Vans this year made its first shoe with Fabrics made exclusively of Komatsu Seiren Co., a local company, and has launched the Japan Fabrics/Japan Fabrics summer and fall collections in succession. The theme continued through the winter with Vans incorporating a wide range of different elements as well as locally specific materials into the classic shoe line with up to six pairs of “Japan Fabrics” winter line.
This time Vans took the popular Old Skool, Style 36, Authentic, slipon-on and seasonal sk8-hi as the basic shoe styles to design and present in two completely different styles. One group formed checkerboard pattern with different shades of blue and added sk8-hi and Style 36 outer side respectively, while the inner side formed asymmetric mirror design with light blue. The Sidestripe of off-white leather echoes the label of the shoe tongue, and the edge of the white outsole makes the shoe style more complete.
Sk8-hi and Old Skool made the toe and heel with suede. The side of the shoe, indigo denim, which Japan is proud of, was decorated with five-pointed stars and paisley patterns drawn by white lines. The white leather Sidestripe was connected before and after. The Era and Slip-On, On the other hand, are covered in different geometric patterns, each with a piece of light brown leather sewn into the heel, which Era paired with the same colour shoelace.
Vans “Japan Fabrics” 2018 winter series have been released. The price of the sk8-hi check-board model is 9720 JPY with tax; the price of the Old Skool check-board model is 9180 JPY with tax,; the price of the sk8-hi vortexes model is 8640 JPY with tax; the price of the Old Skool pentastar model, Era and Slip-On is 7020 JPY.
