NASA x Vans sk8-hi 46 MTE DX co-branded shoe

NASA and Vans completed their first collaboration last year with a line of shoes and apparel themed “Space Yogager/Space traveler.” The joint effort is not only a celebration of NASA’s 60th anniversary, but also a tribute to its commitment to exploration over the years.

It’s worth noting that ComplexCon 2018, the annual American fashion event, is also the first time that ComplexCon has released a pair of NASA x Vans sk8-hi 46 MTE DX shoes in an exclusive gray color, which is sure to thrill fans on both sides.

The grey sk8-hi 46 MTE DX USES the same shoes as the previous white and black sk8-hi 46 MTE DX, but also USES soft leather to make the shoe body, which is closer to people’s impression of spacesuits. The front and back of the outsole edge were strengthened and presented as stripes.

In addition, this pair of sk8-hi shoes also adopts the rough cutting design to make the sponge exposed directly, which also leads to the collar of the shoes only with a circle of black inside, which exactly echoes with the heel loop, shoelace and tongue binding. Not only is the shoe in grey, but the Sidestripe is also outlined in grey leather and sewn with three stitches.

Sk8-hi sewed an embroidered badge with a starry sky and a NASA logo on the upper of her left shoe, and an astronaut portrait on the inside. The shoes also feature a personalized Velcro on the outside of the right foot: the black and yellow GEMINI Logo, embroidered with the words “NASA” and “GEMINI” in English. Likewise, the sleek orange Vans Logo was added to the tongue.
