Nike’s Air Max 98 Gets a Premium Shanghai Colorway

Other than the United States, China is arguably the number one hot bed for the sneaker industry, with Nike at the forefront of their culture as much as it is are our own. To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Air Max 98, Nike is set to debut a China-exclusive version inspired by the country’s biggest city.
The “Shanghai” Air Max 98 covers the black upper of the ’90s runner in an all-over print of Chinese characters that reads “Run Shanghai.” The pattern is a nod to the bright lights seen throughout the city at night, while red mini Swooshes with touches of blue add some vibrancy to the monochrome colorway. Finally, a leather tongue tab with tilted Air Max branding adds another twist to the special edition pair.
No release date for the Air Max 98 “Shanghai” has been reported just yet, but grab a first look here and stay tuned for updates as we have them.
