Nike Is Bringing Back Crepe Soles To The Air Max 1

The Nike Air Max 1 has seen many different interesting embellishments over its 30+ years on the market, but now Nike is back with yet another new interpretation of the timeless Air Max 1. Made of special coagulated latex sheets, the soles — commonly associated with shoes like the Clark’s Wallabees — offer extra flexibility and comfort, plus a unique look.

The upper primarily sports in a navy blue nubuck with burgundy nubuck present on the top eyelets and heel. Forest green corduroy paneling, and a baby blue chenille Swoosh and tongue tag complete the design. A nice finishing touch is a crepe outsole that further adds to the premium nature of this particular colorway. Most commonly seen on silhouettes like the Clarks Wallabee, the gum rubber has also been used on some classic pairs from the early 2000s as well.
